Instructions for Setting the Gate Posts in Concrete

Preparation: First, ensure you have all the necessary tools and materials ready, including a drill, screws, hinges, and a spanner, as well as concrete and possibly a spirit level.
Positioning: Mark the position of the posts where they are to be embedded. Ensure the posts are aligned straight and installed at the same height.
Digging the Hole: Dig a hole for each post that is deep enough to support the lower part (40 cm) of the post, plus a few centimetres for the concrete. The hole should be at least 30cm in diameter and 80cm deep.
Level the Foundation: Place a layer of gravel or chippings in the hole and smooth it out so that it is evenly distributed.
Insert the Post: Place the post into the hole and ensure it is straight and level on the layer of gravel or chippings.
Concrete: Mix the concrete according to the manufacturer's instructions and fill the hole around the post. Use a spirit level to ensure the post is level while the concrete is poured. Allow the concrete to cure for at least 24 hours before proceeding.
Covering: To complete the embedding process, you can place a cover around the post. This is especially helpful to protect it from weather influences.
